At Adelaide Elementary, the spirit of teamwork and determination was alive and well as students rallied together to raise nearly $14,000 for their school. With the support of generous local businesses, the community came together to make the jog-a-thon a resounding success.
The students walked or ran tirelessly lap after lap, all with the goal of enhancing their school experience. They knew that reaching their target would mean exciting rewards for both classes and individual students, motivating them to push harder and run longer.
On Wednesday afternoon, the excitement reached a fever pitch as students gathered for a special assembly. The atmosphere was electric, filled with cheers and clapping, as everyone awaited the highlight of the event: Principal Arbon’s transformation into a “human ice cream sundae.”
With colorful toppings and sprinkles, the principal took it all in stride, embodying the playful spirit of the celebration. As the students “went nuts” with excitement, they cheered and laughed, reveling in the fun of their hard-earned success. The sight of Principal Arbon decked out as a giant ice cream sundae bowl was one for the books, capturing the joy and unity of their efforts.
The highest earning grade was Kindergarten and the highest earning class was Mrs, Thornell. Congratulations to Aleshia Vaughan and Yamilet Salazar for being the top two earners in the school.
A heartfelt thank you to the PTA, who spearheaded the fundraising initiative and ensured that everything ran smoothly. Their dedication not only motivated the students but also brought the community together in a wonderful display of support and encouragement.
As the assembly wrapped up, students left with not just prizes in hand but also a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie, knowing that their hard work had truly paid off. The experience served as a delicious reminder that when Adelaide Tigers come together, anything is possible!
